This first excercise was to draw a simple object using different tools to create a variety of tones using lines and marks.
I drew a cork from last nights bottle of wine and experimented with different types of marks, including cross hatching, countoured cross hatching, dots and squiggles. The tools I used were a felt tip pen, black ink pen, dark charcoal pencil and a HB graphite stick.
The next part of the excercise was to draw a very quick loose line drawing of a few items. I used the charcoal pencil to draw a collection of wine corks using mainly contoured cross hatching to create forum and shadows.
